Mary Meriam: Summer Kitchen #4, and Collin Kelley reading
A bit behind schedule, we’re delighted to bring out Mary Meriam’s exquisite The Poet’s Zodiac tomorrow, August 19, as Number 4 in our hot, hot Summer Kitchen Series. Please join us in congratulating Mary!
And if you’re in the Atlanta area, please come celebrate the reissue of Collin Kelley’s Slow to Burn, Number 4 in our visionary ReBound Series. Collin will read from StB, as well as new work, on Saturday, August 20th, 3pm at Bound to Be Read Books. Congratulations, Collin!
Keystone reading period closes tonight
How did August 15th creep up on us so quickly? Today’s the deadline to submit work in consideration for the Keystone Chapbook Prize, which will be judged this year by the fabulous Sascha Feinstein. If you’re sending by e-mail, you still have time (a little over four hours here in my time zone); if you haven’t posted your snailmail manuscript by midnight tonight, it’s officially too late.
Note that I said “officially”: folks, I’m a teddy bear. Send the manuscript tomorrow or even Wednesday with a creative note of apology and we’re perfectly happy to accept it. So please don’t panic on our account.
Oh–the guidelines are here.
New title forthcoming by David J. Daniels
We’re very happy to announce that we’ll be publishing Breakfast in the Suburbs by David J. Daniels in next year’s Editor’s Series. David’s manuscript was a finalist for the 2011 Editor’s Prize, and we’re thrilled to bring it to you in March of 2012. Stay tuned for more information (including how to pre-order), and please join us in congratulating David and welcoming him to the Seven Kitchens clan!
