Seeking readers

Seven Kitchens Press is committed to publishing the best poetry we can find and has always sought work from diverse and underrepresented voices. To date, 55% of our chapbooks are by LGBTQIA writers, but the majority of our titles are by writers who identify as (white and) male.

We would like to change this.

Our associate editors are all POC. We are working harder than ever to reach out to underrepresented poets and invite them to submit their writing. We would like at least two-thirds of newly-accepted manuscripts to be from women and people of color, as well as other marginalized voices.

We are very interested in bringing more readers on board to help us reach and maintain this goal. Please reach out to sevenkitchenspress@gmail.com with the subject line “diversity” if you’d like to join this conversation, volunteer as a series reader, or offer your support.

Seeking co-editor: The Keystone Chapbook Series

Dear Readers:

Seven Kitchens Press is seeking a dedicated individual to serve as co-editor of the Keystone Chapbook Series. Must be ___________ and ____________________. (I’ve written and erased this sentence twenty times. If you know what the Keystone Chapbook Series is, send an e-mail to sevenkitchenspress at gmail dot com and tell me why you’d love to help develop and champion this series.)

We pay in chapbooks and abiding love. For independent literature.

I would love to hear from you.
