Reading window has shifted: Allison Joseph Series

Because we received no manuscripts through May 30 of this year, we have shifted the reading period to November. We hope that this will provide sufficient time to better spread the word and generate interest in this series. The first two selected chapbooks are scheduled for publication this September. We are very open to dialogue about this series and are actively looking for ways to better promote it. If you are interested in being a series reader or have any comments or suggestions, please write to us at sevenkitchenspress at gmail dot com.

Reminder: The Robin Becker Chapbook Series is now open

Just a reminder that we are now reading manuscripts for the Robin Becker Chapbook Series through May 15. This year, series editors Crystal Boson and Ron Mohring are joined by co-reader Steffan Triplett. We want to read your queer work! Queer Open Window: We are now reading for the Robin Becker Chapbook Series

It’s April. You’ve got poems, and we want to read them! Now considering manuscripts for the annual Robin Becker Chapbook Series, seeking to publish the very best poetry by LGBTQ+ writers. We are working harder than ever to reach out to underrepresented poets and invite them to submit their writing. Seeking readers

Seven Kitchens Press is committed to publishing the best poetry we can find and has always sought work from diverse and underrepresented voices. To date, 55% of our chapbooks are by LGBTQIA writers, but the majority of our titles are by writers who identify as (white and) male.

We would like to change this.

Our associate editors are all POC. We are working harder than ever to reach out to underrepresented poets and invite them to submit their writing. We would like at least two-thirds of newly-accepted manuscripts to be from women and people of color, as well as other marginalized voices.

We are very interested in bringing more readers on board to help us reach and maintain this goal. Please reach out to sevenkitchenspress@gmail.com with the subject line “diversity” if you’d like to join this conversation, volunteer as a series reader, or offer your support.
