Announcing the A.V. Christie Chapbook Series

We are thrilled to announce the first of two new chapbook series launching this year, both for women writers.

The A.V. Christie Chapbook Series seeks original, unpublished poetry manuscripts by women writers over the age of 50. This series honors the vision of poet & teacher A.V. Christie and is being launched in 2022 thanks to the generous donations of A.V.’s friends and colleagues. We are especially proud to offer this series in her memory as part of our long-term commitment to publish women and other traditionally underrepresented voices, with the goal of making them a significant majority of our catalog.

Manuscripts will be considered annually during the month of February. This year, Nathalie Anderson will serve as the final judge. Full guidelines are available here.

Iris McCloughan, Bones to Peaches (Robin Becker Series)

We’re pretty thrilled to offer our 15th title of 2021: Bones to Peaches by Iris McCloughan was selected as Number 23 in our Robin Becker Series. (Look for four more Robin Becker Series titles in 2022!) Please take a moment to check out a sample poem and read more about Iris and their work here.

Summer Kitchen Series is open

We’re kicking off the new year and throwing open the window for entries to our limited-edition Summer Kitchen Series: now through January 31, send us your poetry manuscripts. Previous poets selected for this series include Crystal Boson, Mary Meriam, Ed Madden, Guillermo Castro, and Steve Bellin-Oka–see the full list and complete guidelines here.

New title release: Lisa Hammond, Lily Watch

We’re thrilled to release the fourth and final chapbook in our not-quite-on-schedule Summer Kitchen Series: Lily Watch by Lisa Hammond is now available!

The Summer Kitchen Series features limited-edition titles: only 24 of the 49 copies produced of each title will be sold by the press; the other copies go directly to the poets.

Please join us in celebrating Lisa’s new work!
