Since 2007, Seven Kitchens Press has published over 150 poetry and prose chapbooks, with a special focus on LGBTQIA writers. Join Ron Mohring (the press’s founder and the powerhouse who has kept it thriving) along with award-winning Seven Kitchens poets Oliver Baez Bendorf, Iris McCloughan, and Brad Richard (moderator) for readings from their work and a celebration of this extraordinary small press.

2021 Summer Kitchen Chapbook selections

We’re delighted to announce the lineup for the 2021 Summer Kitchen Series, consisting of six poets and five chapbooks. Thank you to everyone who sent in manuscripts for consideration this month: the quality was such that we decided to go ahead and make selections for all four available slots.

We are thrilled to announce the release of Ed Madden’s 4th chapbook with Seven Kitchens Press. Sebastian, Number 12 in our ReBound Series, was originally published in 2011 as a pamphlet of poems written in response to ideas and images developed for a collaborative art exhibit, Saint Sebastian: from Martyr to Gay Starlet, in Columbia, SC. We are grateful to secure permission from the original artist, Alejandro García-Lemos, to use his work again for the cover image. Read a sample poem and order your copy here.

Summer Kitchen Series–we’re opening the window on February 1

Once again, we will open the submission window for our Summer Kitchen Series from February 1 through February 14. From these manuscripts, we will select up to two titles for this year’s series, to be pubished (when else?) this coming summer. Full guidelines can be found here. We look forward to reading your work!
