New titles selected: Rane Arroyo Series: Sumners, Rahal, Siranian

We’re thrilled to announce the selection of three manuscripts for the Rane Arroyo Chapbook Series: from 109 entries, Dan Vera and Ron Mohring have selected Finding Helen by Pamela Sumners, No New Wilderness by Andrew Rahal, and She by Theadora Siranian. All three chapbooks will be published this summer. Please join us in congratulating these poets on their fine work.

The next reading period for the Rane Arroyo Series will be from October 1 – November 15, 2020.

Rane Arroyo Series selections

New release: Sam Pittman | Mostly Water

We’ve closed out March with the second of two new chapbooks: Sam Pittman’s Mostly Waterwhich had its launch reading in Pittsburgh on March 31. Selected by Dan Vera and Ron Mohring as Number 6 in the Rane Arroyo Chapbook Series and featuring a gorgeous cover designed by Sam himself, Mostly Water is available now!

It’s a thrill to announce that we have selected two manuscripts for this year’s Rane Arroyo Chapbook Series: “Alterations,” by Dana De Greff of Miami, Florida, and “Mix Tape for a War,” by Guillermo Filice Castro of New York, NY. Both chapbooks will be published this summer as #8 and #9 in the series.

Rane Arroyo Series selections: Johns, Pittman

Please join us in congratulating Wayne Johns and Sam Pittman, whose chapbook manuscripts have been selected by Ron Mohring and Dan Vera for the Rane Arroyo Chapbook Series. 

Wayne Johns is the author of a previous chapbook, An Invisible Veil Between Us (Frank O’Hara Prize). His first book, Antipsalms, received the inaugural Audre Lorde and Frank O’Hara prize and is forthcoming from Oia Arts Press. The Exclusion Zone will be published this winter as Number 6 in the Rane Arroyo Chapbook Series.

Sam Pittman is a graduate of the MFA Program in Writing at the University of Pittsburgh, and holds a BA from the University of California, Berkeley. He writes and teaches English in Pittsburgh, PA, where he lives with his partner. Mostly Water, his first chapbook, will be published this winter as Number 7 in the Rane Arroyo Chapbook Series.

Deep thanks to Dan Vera for coming on board as co-editor of this series, and to all the writers who submitted work for our consideration. These new titles will both deepen and expand the range of this series, and we continue to be grateful to Glenn Sheldon for blessing this project in honor of Rane Arroyo.
