Robin Becker Prize submissions open
We are now accepting submissions for the 5th annual Robin Becker Chapbook Prize. Manuscripts must be postmarked or e-mailed by April 15–but since the 15th falls on a Sunday this year, the 16th will be just fine. Please help spread the word, and please email us (sevenkitchens at yahoo dot com) if you’d like a postcard!
ReBound Series is now open
We are now accepting submissions for the 2011 ReBound Series, which publishes out-of-print chapbooks in snazzy new editions. Current titles in the series are, in order of release, Notes from the Red Zone by Christina Pacosz, Ordinances by Naomi Lazard, Letter to Frank O’Hara by Steve Turtell, and Slow to Burn by Collin Kelley. Two additional titles will be released in November and December: No Matter by Louis McKee, and Midwinter Fires by Jeffery Beam.

Robin Becker Chapbook – deadline extended
Well, it was bound to happen. Because your humble editor neglected to thoroughly proofread the posted guidelines, the deadline was listed as May 15. For this year only, we will therefore extend the submission deadline from April 15 to May 15. (You’re welcome.) For those of you scrambling to get manuscripts into the mail, relax. For anyone who wants to take advantage of the (accidentally) extended deadline and submit a revised manuscript (not that there’s anything wrong with what you’ve already sent), that’s okay, too.
Two weeks remain: Get those Becker chapbooks in!
In just over two weeks–April 15–the submission period will close for the 4th annual Robin Becker Chapbook Prize. Spread the word! Order a prize-winning title! Send us your work! We’d love to make this the biggest year yet for the Becker Prize. Thanks so much for your continued support.

Judith Barrington to judge Robin Becker Prize
We’re thrilled to announce that Judith Barrington will judge this year’s Robin Becker Chapbook Prize. Judith is the author of three poetry collections, a prizewinning memoir, and a text on writing literary memoir. The poetry books are: Horses and the Human Soul, History and Geography, and Trying to be an Honest Woman. She has also recorded a CD of selected poems titled Harvest. Prose books are: Lifesaving: A Memoir (winner of the Lambda Book Award and finalist for the PEN/Martha Albrand Award for the Art of the Memoir), and Writing the Memoir: From Truth to Art which is used in numerous writing programs. Most recently, she has published two poetry chapbooks: Postcard from the Bottom of the Sea (8th Mountain Press) and Lost Lands (selected by Robin Becker as winner of the inaugural Robin Becker Chapbook Prize).
The reading period for the Robin Becker Prize is March 1 – April 15; complete guidelines are posted here.

Happy New Year to all our readers and writers. We’re excited to open our call for submissions to the Editor’s Prize Series–full details can be found here. Manuscripts will be accepted from January 1 until February 15. Please share the word!

New Editor’s Prize guidelines are up
Guidelines are now up for the new, revamped Editor’s Prize (click on the “guidelines” tab at our main page). The reading period is January 1 – February 15, so get those chapbooks cookin’, folks.
